Spartan Motors elects new board member

Spartan Motors Inc., which makes vehicle chassis, on Thursday said it elected Richard R. Current, vice president and chief financial officer of Neogen Corp., to its board.

The election of Current, who will serve as an independent director and on the board's audit committee, increases the size of the board to eight members.

Spartan shares fell 23 cents, or 3.3 percent, to $6.71 in midday trading.
