Guess raises outlook slightly for 2009

Guess Inc. on Wednesday raised its guidance slightly for the 2009 fiscal year.
The clothing and shoe company said it now expects revenue of $2.06 billion to $2.11 billion. It expects to earn $2.47 to $2.53 per share for the year, up from its previous estimate of $2.40 to $2.48 per share that the company announced in June.
These expectations include the impact of 951,000 shares repurchased during the second quarter of fiscal 2009.
Guess also announced on Wednesday that its net income rose to $53.8 million, or 57 cents per share, for the quarter, compared to $37.5 million, or 40 cents per share, for the same quarter of last year.
Shares of Guess were virtually unchanged in after-hours trading.
