Retailer Hibbett Sports Inc. said Wednesday that Nissan Joseph has left his post as chief operating officer over "philosophical differences" with the company.
"We have mutually come to this decision and believe it is in the best interests of Hibbett and Nissan," Mickey Newsome, the chairman and chief executive, said in a statement.
The Birmingham, Ala.-based sporting goods seller said it plans to begin a search for Joseph's replacement.
A company spokesman didn't immediately return a message seeking additional information.
Hibbett Sports shares finished up 84 cents, or 3.5 percent, at $25.15.
