TDS, US Cellular to list shares on NYSE

Telephone and Data Systems Inc. and U.S. Cellular Corp. said they plan to move their publicly traded shares to the New York Stock Exchange from the American Stock Exchange as of Sept. 15.
In a press release, the companies said they believe the shift will provide increased visibility as well as "the best possible liquidity and the highest-quality market for our stocks."
The companies will retain their current ticker symbols.
Telephone & Data Systems, a telecommunications provider, owns a majority stake in wireless carrier U.S. Cellular. Both companies are based in Chicago.
Shares of Telephone & Data Systems fell 56 cents to $39.11 Wednesday. Shares of U.S. Cellular declined 87 cents to $51.43.
