Children's clothing retailer Children's Place Retail Stores Inc. said Thursday its same-store sales were flat in August.
Same-store sales, or sales at stores open at least a year, is a key indicator of retailer performance since it measures growth at existing stores rather than newly opened ones.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected same-store sales to rise 3.5 percent.
Total sales for the four-week period ended Aug. 30 rose 3 percent to $145.1 million from $140.4 million.
