Shares of some top insurers companies were mixed at the close of trading:
American Internation rose $1.12 or 5.3 percent, to $22.34.
MBIA rose $.68 or 4.3 percent, to $16.61.
MGIC Investments fell $.13 or 1.4 percent, to $9.21.
XL Capital rose $.46 or 2.5 percent, to $19.08.
