Forward Air completes Service Express acquisition

Air cargo contractor Forward Air Corp. said Monday it has completed its acquisition of certain assets of privately held distributor Service Express Inc.

Terms of the deal, which was first announced last week, were not disclosed.

Service Express, which is based in Spartanburg, S.C., had sales of about $39 million last year. Forward Air had sales of about $392.7 million.

Forward Air shares rose 65 cents to $33.80 in afternoon trading.
