Virgin Media names Allen, Rigsby to its board

Virgin Media Inc., an entertainment and communications company, on Wednesday named former ITV PLC Chief Executive Charles Allen to its board of directors.
Allen, 51, served as CEO of ITV, Britain's biggest free-to-air commercial broadcaster, from 2004 to 2006. He is currently non-executive chairman of British commercial radio group Global Radio and a non-executive director for television production company Endemol.
Virgin Media also appointed John Rigsby, the former president of Bright House Networks' Florida group, to its board.
Both Allen and Rigsby, 62, will serve as independent, non-executive members.
Shares of Virgin Media dropped 17 cents to $10.85 in morning trading.
