Universal Stainless & Alloy Products Inc. said Monday it agreed with the local union to continue operations at its Bridgeville facility while the two sides continue talks.

Employees at United Steelworkers Local 9531 will continue working while the negotiations with the steelmaker over a labor agreement continue, Universal said.

The previous continuance of the collective bargaining agreement covering the hourly employees at the facility expired on Friday, the company said.

Shares of Universal Stainless declined 35 cents to $31.08.
