Hagerstown Regional Airport will be served by a commercial passenger service for the first time in a year.
Las Vegas-based Allegiant will begin twice-weekly flights between the western Maryland city and Orlando Sanford International Airport in Florida beginning Nov. 14. The introductory fare will be $79 each way.
Wednesday's announcement follows the completion of a $62 million runway extension project to meet federal safety regulations.
Hagerstown has been without passenger service since October, when Air Midwest ended its US Airways Express flights between Hagerstown and Pittsburgh.
