SouthWest Water Co., a water utility serving the Southwest, said Wednesday Geoffrey C. Ketcham has been elected to the board of directors, boosting the total number of members to nine.

Ketcham, 57, spent 25 years at energy company Energen Corp., based in Birmingham, Ala. He retired in 2006 as the chief financial officer.

Shares of SouthWest Water fell 31 cents, or 2.7 percent, to $11.04 in afternoon trading.
