Central European Media in license deal with MTV

Central European Media Enterprises Ltd. said Thursday that it signed a licensing deal with MTV Networks International that allows it to create an MTV channel in the Czech Republic.
Terms were not disclosed.
The multiyear agreement also gives broadcast network operator CEME the ability to distribute MTV on Slovak Republic cable and satellite outlets.
MTV Czech is set to debut in 2009's first half and will carry shows such as "Cribs" and "Pimp My Ride" with Czech subtitles. It will also broadcast some locally made programming.
MTV Networks International is a Viacom Inc. unit.
Shares of Central European Media Enterprises added 40 cents to $62.39 in midday trading, while Viacom's stock gained 22 cents to $24.74.
