Shares of some top telecom companies are down at noon:

AT&T Inc fell $.55 or 2.4 percent, to $22.45.

Qwest fell $.15 or 6.6 percent, to $2.13.

Sprint Nextel fell $.26 or 6.9 percent, to $3.50.

Verizon fell $.93 or 3.6 percent, to $25.00.
