Customers of Madison-based Wisconsin Power & Light will get an $18 million refund on electric bills.
The state Public Service Commission approved the refund Thursday for WP&L customers because of fuel costs that have been lower than projected.
The PSC determined in its monthly audits of fuel costs and monitoring of utility collections that the customers should get the refund.
The average WP&L customer can expect the onetime refund of about $14 on an upcoming bill.
WP&L is owned by Alliant Energy.
