Skin treatment device maker Syneron Medical Ltd. said Monday it is replacing Chief Executive Doron Gerstel with Lou Scafuri as part of a restructuring program.
The board of directors named Scafuri CEO effective immediately. He most recently worked as chief operating officer and president of GE Marquette Medical Systems, a unit of General Electric.
In a statement, Gerstel said he is pursuing other opportunities.
Israel-based Syneron suffered through a punishing third quarter, watching profit fall 73 percent as demand for its devices fell with a weakened economy. It is scheduled to report fourth-quarter and full-year results on Feb. 12.
