Among the earnings stories for Monday, Feb. 9, from AP Financial News:

NEW YORK (AP) _ Rohm & Haas, the specialty chemicals maker embroiled in an acquisition fight with Dow Chemical, said Monday its fourth-quarter earnings fell 82 percent as several charges and a drop in sales sapped profits.

UNDATED (AP) _ Beazer Homes USA Inc. posted a smaller loss for its fiscal first quarter, but revenue dropped sharply as home closings and new orders each plunged by more than half and the homebuilder slashed 300 jobs.

NEW YORK (AP) _ Hasbro Inc. said Monday that its fourth-quarter profit fell a sharper-than-expected 30 percent as the nation's second-biggest toy maker cut prices on many items during the sluggish holiday season and the stronger dollar hurt results.

GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan (AP) _ With consumer demand dropping, home appliance maker Whirlpool Corp. said Monday that its fourth-quarter profit tumbled 77 percent, squeezed as well by a restructuring charge, recall expenses and the stronger dollar.

NEW YORK (AP) _ Trans-Atlantic stock exchange operator NYSE Euronext said Monday it recorded a $1.34 billion loss during the fourth quarter as it was forced to take a charge related to its 2007 acquisition of European exchange Euronext.
