Websense names John McCormack president

Software maker Websense Inc. said Wednesday it has named John McCormack president of the company.

McCormack, 49, joined Websense in 2006 and was previously senior vice president for product development. He will report to Chief Executive Gene Hodges in his new job.

Doug Wride served as the company's president beginning in April 2007. He also continues to hold the titles of chief operating officer and interim chief financial officer.

Websense shares gained 11 cents to $15.81 in morning trading.
