Jones Apparel Group extends offer expiration date

Apparel maker Jones Apparel Group Inc. said Friday it extended the expiration date of its tender offer for its 4.25 percent senior notes to May 6.

The notes in the tender offer are due in 2009.

The company said the issuers had received tenders with respect to $242.5 million principal amount of the outstanding notes. The offering previously was set to expire on Friday.

The consideration for every $1,000 principal amounts of the notes tendered and accepted for payment is $980, the company added.

Jones Apparel shares fell 16 cents to $9.08 in afternoon trading.
