NEW YORK (AP) _ Apparel maker Warnaco Group Inc. said its profit more than doubled in the first quarter from a year-ago period weighed by a hefty tax charge.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) _ Casual dining chain O'Charley's Inc. said its fiscal first-quarter profit fell 31 percent as restaurant sales dropped on a continued consumer spending pullback.

LOS ANGELES (AP) _ Development stage company Cougar Biotechnology Inc. said its first-quarter loss widened on higher research and development costs as the company continues late-stage studies of its potential prostate cancer treatment.
