General Dynamics C4 Systems and a group of other companies have received a $3 million Army order to integrate a signals intelligence system into vehicles designed to protect against mines.
Medium Mine Protected Vehicles equipped with the Prophet Enhanced system will be delivered to the Army in October, General Dynamics said.
The order is part of a six-year contract the Army awarded to a team led by General Dynamics in February. It has an estimated potential value of $866 million if all options are exercised.
General Dynamics C4 Systems, a business unit of General Dynamics Corp., is the prime contractor for the Prophet Enhanced program. Other companies involved are L-3 Communications Inc. and Northrop Grumman Information Technology.
Shares of General Dynamics jumped $1.74, or about 3.3 percent, to $57.26 in afternoon trading.
