COLUMBIA, Md. (AP) _ Martek Biosciences Corp., which sells nutritional oils and dietary supplements, said its fiscal 2009 second-quarter profit rose 20 percent on higher contract manufacturing revenue and a dip in costs.

WASHINGTON (AP) _ SAIC Inc. said its fiscal first-quarter profit grew 13 percent as revenue soared on U.S. military spending on defense logistics and cybersecurity.

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) _ Russian mining and metals company Mechel OAO posted a 25 percent rise in profit in 2008, making the gains before the global economy deteriorated.

UNDATED (AP) _ Toll Brothers Inc. said it trimmed its losses in the fiscal second quarter and is seeing a pickup in the number of homebuyers who are ready to put down deposits.
