NYSE Euronext names Walter Lukken to new role

NYSE Euronext on Tuesday named Walter Lukken to the newly created position of senior vice president of global market structure, effective July 13.
Lukken, 42, was appointed in 2002 as commissioner of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. He is currently serving his second term, which expires in 2010. He served as acting chairman of CTFC from June 27, 2007, to Jan. 20 of this year.
In his new role, Lukken will focus on global market structure, including the company's expansion in U.S. derivatives markets.
NYSE Euronext operates stock and commodities exchanges in the U.S. and Europe.
Shares of NYSE Euronext added 24 cents to $28.58 in afternoon trading.
