Tetra Tech buys Tesoro, Mussetter

Tetra Tech Inc., an engineering consulting firm, said Tuesday it acquired three companies in an effort to expand its geographic coverage and technical services.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

The companies include Tesoro Corp., a construction-management firm based in Virginia Beach, Va., that works primarily for the U.S. Department of Defense and has $80 million in annual revenue.

The company also acquired Mussetter Engineering in Fort Collins, Colo., which focuses on water resources, fluvial geomorphology and environmental hydraulics; and ACI Engineering in Vancouver, British Columbia, which provides high voltage power engineering to support energy transmission.

Together, Mussetter and ACI have about $5 million in annual revenue.

Tetra Tech shares fell 26 cents to close at $27.61.
