SAIC CEO retires, followed by BAE Systems ex-chief

Defense contractor Science Applications International Corp. said Tuesday that Chairman and CEO Ken Dahlberg will retire as CEO in September. He will be succeeded by the former president and chief executive of BAE Systems Inc., Walt Havenstein.

SAIC requires executive officers to retire at age 65. Dahlberg will turn 65 in October.

Havenstein, 60, was chief operating officer and member of the board of directors for British aerospace and defense company BAE Systems PLC. And he was president and CEO of BAE Systems, the company's U.S. subsidiary.

Shares of SAIC rose 5 cents to $18.23 in morning trading.
