L-3 Communications gets contract worth up to $375M

Defense contractor L-3 Communications Inc. said Monday it has been awarded a U.S. Air Force contract for engineering and other services with a potential value of $375 million.

The New York company's MPRI division, which provides maritime and marksmanship simulations and emergency and routine operations management systems, was awarded the contract by the U.S. Air Forces Europe. The five-year contract consists of a base year and four option years.

L-3 will provide the Air Force with advisory and assistance services, including engineering and technical services, management and professional support and studies and analysis and evaluation services to maintain and improve government-owned computer software and provide intelligence analysis.

Shares rose $1.07 to $70.12 in morning trading.
