Shares of some top biotechnology companies were down at the close of trading:
Amgen fell $.17 or .3 percent, to $52.94.
Biogen Idec fell $2.17 or 4.6 percent, to $45.15.
Celgene fell $.49 or 1.0 percent, to $47.84.
Gilead Sciences fell $.53 or 1.1 percent, to $46.84.
