Shares of some top broadline retail companies were down at the close of trading:
BJ's Wholesale fell $.41 or 1.3 percent, to $32.23.
Costco fell $.42 or .9 percent, to $45.78.
Target fell $.18 or .5 percent, to $39.47.
WalMart fell $.32 or .7 percent, to $48.44.
