Amphenol rose $.17 or .5 percent, to $31.64.
Avnet fell $.37 or 1.7 percent, to $21.03.
Emerson Electric fell $.87 or 2.6 percent, to $32.40.
Thomas & Betts fell $.94 or 3.2 percent, to $28.86.
