Arch Coal fell $.48 or 3.1 percent, to $14.88.
Consol Energy fell $1.16 or 3.3 percent, to $33.60.
Massey Energy fell $.37 or 1.9 percent, to $19.09.
Peabody Energy fell $.78 or 2.6 percent, to $29.76.
