Shares of some top airlines companies were mixed at the close of trading:

AMR rose $.12 or 3.0 percent, to $4.14.

AirTran rose $.30 or 4.8 percent, to $6.49.

Continental rose $.36 or 4.1 percent, to $9.22.

DeltaAir rose $.06 or 1.0 percent, to $5.85.

JetBlue rose $.09 or 2.1 percent, to $4.36.

Southwest rose $.07 or 1.0 percent, to $6.80.

UAL rose $.10 or 3.1 percent, to $3.29.

US Airways fell $.02 or .8 percent, to $2.41.
