Shares of some top insurers companies were mixed at the close of trading:
MBIA fell $.12 or 2.8 percent, to $4.21.
MGIC Investments fell $.04 or .9 percent, to $4.36.
XL Capital rose $.80 or 7.0 percent, to $12.26.
