AT&T Inc rose $.23 or .9 percent, to $25.07.
Qwest fell $.15 or 3.6 percent, to $4.00.
Sprint Nextel fell $.20 or 4.2 percent, to $4.61.
Verizon rose $.09 or .3 percent, to $30.82.
