AT&T Inc rose $.27 or 1.1 percent, to $25.11.
Qwest fell $.03 or .7 percent, to $4.12.
Sprint Nextel fell $.02 or .4 percent, to $4.79.
Verizon rose $.13 or .4 percent, to $30.86.
