Arch Coal fell $.44 or 2.9 percent, to $14.79.
Consol Energy fell $1.42 or 4.2 percent, to $32.45.
Massey Energy fell $.91 or 4.8 percent, to $18.01.
Peabody Energy fell $.83 or 2.8 percent, to $29.19.
