Shares of some top specialty retail companies were down at the close of trading:

AutoZone fell $2.76 or 1.8 percent, to $150.00.

Gap fell $.65 or 4.1 percent, to $15.39.

Home Depot fell $.90 or 3.8 percent, to $22.81.

Lowes fell $.89 or 4.6 percent, to $18.62.

OfficeMax fell $.73 or 11.4 percent, to $5.65.

TJX Companies fell $1.47 or 4.7 percent, to $29.80.
