Have questions? Want to talk about something or bounce ideas off someone? Visit the seminar discussion boards! Each online seminar has dedicated discussion boards where you can share your thoughts, ask questions, learn from others, bounce ideas off others, interact... you get the idea. A discussion board is an online place where people type their thoughts and others read and respond. They are a little different from chat rooms, which allow people to "talk" back and forth in real-time. Instead, each message written (posted) on a discussion board has its own page and shows up alone on your screen. Viewers read one message (post) at a time and can then think about and respond to it. Discussion boards are permanent records of the conversations; you can refer to any post days, weeks, or even months after it was written. Discussion boards, while also social, are much better research and publishing tools than chat rooms. If you're new (or old) to the boards, take a minute to read our Seminar Boards FAQ page for more information. The boards help bring the seminar material to life by allowing you to explore the homework assignment, develop plans or strategies, and see how other people approach the material. You can be an active participant on the seminar discussion boards or just read the discussions ("lurk"), but we suggest that you give it a shot and try posting at least once or twice during the seminar. Each board is staffed by Seminar Facilitators, Foolish staff who are dedicated to helping you find answers to your questions, stimulating discussion, and showing you around. You can recognize the Seminar Facilitators and other Fool staff and instructors by the "TMF" in front of their screen names.
