Picture Perfect
...is a picture worth a 1,000 words?

TOWACO, NJ (July 9, 1998) -- It's been a bit of a rough week filled with lots of early morning travel, so recognizing that, like me, many of you also need a break from time-to-time, I'm going to keep tonight's report short and sweet.
With help from the Fool's Big Charts service on the Web, I created charts for each of our Cash-King stocks in which I compared their performance to the S&P 500 over the past decade. Now, I know that past performance is no guarantee of future results, but I gotta admit that I really like what I see. The nice thing is that even if these stocks perform only half as well over the next ten years as they did over the last ten, our portfolio will trounce the S&P 500.
If you want to try some of these charts yourself, all you need to do is put your stock's ticker symbol in the box at the top left of almost any Fool Web page -- including the Web page holding this daily Cash-King column -- and then click on "get info," then click on "charts," then pick your timeframe and select which index to compare the stock to.
Here are the links to each of the Cash-King charts:
1. Gap (NYSE: GPS) vs. S&P 500 over the last decade.
2. Cisco (Nasdaq: CSCO) vs. S&P 500 over the last decade.
3. Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) vs. S&P 500 over the last decade.
4. Intel (Nasdaq: INTC) vs. S&P 500 over the last decade.
5. Pfizer (NYSE: PFE) vs. S&P 500 over the last decade.
6. T. Rowe Price (Nasdaq: TROW) vs. S&P 500 over the last decade.
7. American Express (NYSE: AXP) vs. S&P 500 over the last decade.
8. Coca-Cola (NYSE: KO) vs. S&P 500 over the last decade.
My favorite is Cisco's chart. This stock has gone up so much over the last decade that it makes the S&P chart look nearly like a straight line!
Have a Foolish evening. I'll be back tomorrow night to share some experiences I had with a financial related course I recently took.
Fool on,
Phil Weiss
