<THE HARRY JONES PORTFOLIO>
By Harry Jones
(January 25, 1999) -- I am amazed sometimes by how hard some people work, considering the result of their efforts. Take insurance people. Now, I'm not saying I'm not grateful for farm insurance, but if I see another fellow walk all the way down my property to sell life insurance I'm going to show him my dogs.
When you work on a farm, every one of your efforts is for productivity. You don't have time to interest other people in things they don't need.
Everyone should have a dog.
As usual, the Harry Jones Portfolio didn't do any manual labor today. It rose 1.02% in value. Some days -- many days -- the portfolio makes money without doing any manual labor.
