<THE HARRY JONES PORTFOLIO>
by Harry Jones
(February 22, 1999) -- Irv told me he read an article this weekend about a new online service for farmers. Farmers certainly aren't the largest market to sell to, but Irv said it sounded like it had potential. For him, anyway. Maybe he'll try it. I've been farming since I was a boy, with my father, and we never needed computers or an online service to do it.
The S&P 500 rose 2.6% today.

We don't mean to imply that Mr. Jones is anti-computer, but the tone of each day's column guides us in choosing a title.]
