Subject: Re: capital equipment prices
Author: Cocoathedog

Starstruck,

Howl at the moon like all good dogs. Shining up your crystal dog-bowl does nothing but guess. But, Cocoa has dog's intuition -- translation: A good dog keeps his nose to the ground and has good hearing. A good dog pays attention when big dogs bark. Cocoa knows some big dogs and many little dogs. Some big dogs are are barking about their spot on the tree getting bigger. Other little dogs are barking about their spot too. A turnaround is seen by yet other little dogs which confirms what big dogs are barking about.

The turnaround may or may not be occurring within all areas of the semi equipment business. It is definately occurring within sectors of semi equipment business. SRAM and DRAM prices have risen -- though still quite a bit lower than last year. This means inventories have dropped. The biggest dog of them all -- Intel -- is barking up a storm. Put it this way; when Intel barks, all dogs listen.

"Microsoft can bark in Chinese now. Hello? Can you bark "innovation" and "1 billion new users"? Can you envision more computer sales?"

And now other dogs:

Motorola is sending new digital phones on time. Call your favorite poodle with a phone that'll fit in a dog's paw.

DVD is going into mainstream computers. This is like scratching and licking.

Palm 3 is getting stiff competition. Soon all dogs can buy one.

Car TVs are coming to the USA -- though this dog saw them in Japan almost 7 years ago. Keep your pups occupied until we get to Fido's house.

Microsoft can bark in Chinese now. Hello? Can you bark "innovation" and "1 billion new users"? Can you envision more computer sales?

Devices are getting smaller -- down to 0.18 micron linewidths. Pretty soon we'll have to have a big, wet nose to smell them.

More devices into automobiles and trucks keeping all dogs happy and safer.

RAMBUS. A really fast dog track...

Copper and new dielectrics. Fast gets faster and smaller.

Need I go on?

"Figure it out for yourself. What do you think will happen to equipment stocks when the order rates pick up across the board? This dog believes the market discounts about 6 to 12 months in advance...only time will tell."

Do you think all dogs in Asia and South America can't or won't doggie-paddle? Do you think they'll all drown?

Figure it out for yourself. What do you think will happen to equipment stocks when the order rates pick up across the board? This dog believes the market discounts about 6 to 12 months in advance...only time will tell.

But... a smart dog knows that Bulldogs make biscuits, bear dogs make biscuits, but pig dogs get slaughtered.

Woof.
