To all my fellow veterans in all services, combat and non-combat alike: remember to visit your fellow veterans who are in the VA Hospitals near you, and thank them for their sacrifices. One vet to another, let them know they count.

To you non-veterans, it doesn't hurt to remember those people who went out and didn't come home whole, or in many cases, at all. If you know a veteran, thank him or her this weekend - one of those who didn't come back may have been a friend or relative. If you don't know a veteran, there are plenty at the VA Hospitals who could use someone to brighten their day. A stranger's kind words are better than silence and loneliness.

Don't forget why they call it MEMORIAL Day.
