Generation Z is the demographic that follows the much-talked-about millennials, and, with an estimated $200 billion in annual direct and indirect purchasing power, many businesses have a keen interest in what's popular with today's teenagers. To that end, Alphabet's (GOOG 0.74%) (GOOGL 0.55%) Google has done some research on what's seen as cool by those in Gen Z, surveying their preferred activities, celebrities, video games, and other interests.

The study also mapped out which 10 brands have the most pull with today's teenagers, and PepsiCo (PEP 3.62%), Microsoft (MSFT 0.37%), Netflix (NFLX -3.92%), Sony (SONY 1.10%), Mondelez International (MDLZ 0.79%), GoPro (GPRO -1.12%), Nike (NKE 0.66%), and Alphabet itself each have entries on the list. Click through the presentation below to learn about which brands are tops with teens.
