Amazon (AMZN -0.37%) closed up over 1% on Monday, July 26, after some exciting news came out for the company. In today's video I look at fundamentals and recent news for Amazon. Below I share a few highlights from the video. 

  1. Amazon and numerous cryptocurrencies were up on Monday after a job position from Amazon started trending on social media. The job position was posted on July 22, and it shows that Amazon is looking for a "Digital Currency and Blockchain Product Lead." The role will be responsible for leading the development of Amazon's digital currency and blockchain strategy and product roadmap.
  2. Amazon also received a few price target hikes on July 26, a few days before earnings. Analysts at Credit Suisse raised Amazon's price target to $4,850 from $4,000.
  3. New World, a PC game created by Amazon's Games studio, has received intense attention over the past weekend. The game is currently in closed beta, which means it is not available to the public at the moment. Regardless, New World made it to the top 10 on Steam's Most Played and Trending list. (Steam is a popular platform used by gamers.)
