Today's video looks at Netflix (NFLX 4.17%) and recent news about its gaming future. In its most recent earnings reported on July 20, Netflix stated that it would bring new experiences to its subscribers in the form of games. On Aug. 26, Netflix released games for a small group of subscribers. Here are some highlights from the video.

  1. Netflix has released two mobile games based on its original series Stranger Things. The games are only available to subscribers in Poland using an Android-based system to download the game.
  2. Netflix has stated that this is still in very early phases, and the platform's development will continue. At the moment, the games are only available if downloaded. Based on Netflix's streaming technology, a possible upgrade of the platform could eliminate the need to download the games and stream the games instead, similar to its video content.
  3. Netflix has no plans of putting ads on the games or monetizing them in any other way. The games are meant to provide another form of entertainment experience for its current subscribers.
