Energy was one of the few areas of the stock market that held up well in 2022, but what about next year?
Unlike most of the stock market, the energy sector had a great 2022. Through mid-December, the Energy Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLE 0.55%) had gained 54% for the year, dramatically outperforming the S&P 500.
