In two very disparate and very visible media mentions, the 3-D printing industry got two major plugs recently: one from Will.i.am and Britney Spears' music video for the hit single "Scream and Shout" and one from President Obama's State of the Union address last night. In the president's speech, he not only discusses his efforts to bolster support for new manufacturing technology in the U.S., but mentions the National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Institute, or NAMII, by name.
