Melbourne, Fla.-based Harris (LHX -0.82%) announced on Monday the signing of a $61 million contract to sell radio sets to the Poland Ministry of National Defense.
The radios in question, Harris Falcon III AN/PRC-117G "manpacks" and AN/PRC-152A handhelds, will be used to "enable Polish military personnel to communicate seamlessly with U.S. and NATO forces during joint warfighting missions," according to Harris RF Communications International Business President Brendan O'Connell. To date, Harris says it has sold more than 40,000 of these radio sets worldwide, to the U.S. military, and to the militaries of 15 allied nations as well.
Harris shares climbed 1.4% on the news Monday, closing at $49.96.
