After introducing new commercial channels for Surface sales in the U.S. in July, Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) posted on its blog today that it's adding new commercial distribution for the Surface tablet in 17 additional countries.
"This expansion continues to be via a select ecosystem of established channel partners with the precise geographical reach, tablet selling experience and commercial value-added services capabilities to deliver the type of business experience our customers need," said the company.
The new channel partners will be added in Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and United Kingdom.
The new partners will be able to sell Surface Pro and Surface RT tablets, provide extended warranty and accidental damage coverage, give onsite service and support, as well as additional services. The Surface tablets and services are available from resellers in all the countries listed above starting today.
