Fans of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas can now blast away on select devices that utilize Google's Android operating system, as well as Kindle tablets from Amazon.com. The title's producer, Take-Two Interactive (TTWO 0.78%) unit Rockstar Games, has announced its availability for the two systems as an app costing $6.99.

San Andreas is the latest in the long running, open-environment video game series distributed by Take-Two. Its title state is heavily based on locations in Nevada and Southern California, and the game features action across three fictional cities. In the press release announcing the news, Take-Two said the mobile versions boast more than 70 hours of gameplay, and have been "specially tuned" for use with tablets and smartphones.

The announcement comes nearly a month after the company rolled out GTA: SA for certain devices powered by Apple's iOS. That version also costs $6.99.
