After two years of preparation, LinkedIn (LNKD.DL) has officially announced that it will be launching in China. While censorship has always been a large hurdle for U.S. Internet companies in China and is the primary reason why the other major social networks haven't gained much traction there, LinkedIn may be in a unique position to be successful in the Chinese market.

With an estimated 140 million Chinese professionals as the possible market, adding even half of that to LinkedIn's current total of approximately 280 million registered members could be enormous for the company.
